I love to read! When we go on vacation, I always make sure to stock up on books. If you are going somewhere this summer or just need something to read, here are some new recommendations!
Covet, The Fallen Angel Series- by J.R. Ward
J.R. Ward has become one of my favorite authors. I love her Black Dagger Brotherhood series. When I finished that series thus far (I can't wait until the next one comes out), I decided to try her Fallen Angel series.
It's another action packed drama of characters. You'll see some familiar characters come about in the book from her other series. I loved that they were somewhat tied together, but also involve separate plots.
Here is the description of Covet:
Redemption isn't a word Jim Heron knows much about—his specialty is revenge, and to him, sin is all relative. But everything changes when he becomes a fallen angel and is charge with saving the souls of seven people from the seven deadly sins. And failure is not an option. Vin DiPietro long ago sold his soul to his business, and he's good with that—until fate intervenes in the form of a tough-talking, Harley-riding, self-professed savior. But then he meets a woman who will make him question his destiny, his sanity, and his heart—and he has to work with a fallen angel to win her over and redeem his own soul.
If you loved J.R. Ward's other stuff, this is a must read series!
The Summoning, The Darkest Powers Series- by Kelley Armstrong
I was kept searching for a new series to read before we went to Atlantic City. I decided to check out Goodreads.com.
Have you ever used it? It's great. You fill in what books you have read and how you would rate them. Based on your answers the website will recommend books for you by genre, topic, authors, etc.
Anyways, I saw The Summoning as a book it recommended and I checked out the first book from the library, but for some reason they didn't have book 2 or 3, so I had to order them. But I loved this series. It is a young adult series that incorporates friendship, love, paranormal and mystery into one.

I am on the waiting list for several new series, so hopefully I'll be able to recommend some new books coming up!
Until next time,
Kara

The description for The Summoning:
My name is Chloe Saunders and my life will never be the same again.
All I wanted was to make friends, meet boys, and keep on being ordinary. I don't even know what that means anymore. It all started on the day that I saw my first ghost—and the ghost saw me.
Now there are ghosts everywhere and they won't leave me alone. To top it all off, I somehow got myself locked up in Lyle House, a "special home" for troubled teens. Yet the home isn't what it seems. Don't tell anyone, but I think there might be more to my housemates than meets the eye. The question is, whose side are they on? It's up to me to figure out the dangerous secrets behind Lyle House...before its skeletons come back to haunt me.
To say the least, I finished book 2 and 3 while on vacation. It's mystery that I couldn't stop reading.
Strange Neighbors- by Ashlyn Chase
This was another book I just stumbled across. I noticed the cover and thought, "what the heck, why not?"

Is this the best book ever written? Absolutely not, but it was a fun read.
If you haven't noticed a trend, I really enjoy books that include paranormal stuff. Vampires, werewolves, fallen angels, etc. I think that comes from having a husband that hates all things magical and science fiction. Since we don't watch movies about the stuff, I just read about them, HAHA (insert the Hubby rolling his eyes at me).
The Strange Neighbors description is:
Sexy Jason seems like the perfect fling, but newly independent nurse Merry's not sure she's ready to trust him with her heart...especially when the tabloids start trumpeting his playboy lifestyle.
He's looking for peace, quiet, and a little romance...
There's never a dull moment when hunky all-star pitcher and shapeshifter Jason Falco invests in an old Boston brownstone apartment building full of supernatural creatures. But when Merry MacKenzie moves into the ground floor apartment, the playboy pitcher decides he might just be done playing the field...
A girl just wants to have fun...
Then pandemonium breaks loose and Merry and Jason will never get it together without a little help from the vampire who lives in the basement and the werewolf from upstairs...
If you are looking for a fun read, check it out.I am on the waiting list for several new series, so hopefully I'll be able to recommend some new books coming up!
Until next time,
